Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier

Alicia Cutrona

I really enjoyed this book. This is the first book from Jennifer Hiller that a read and I am looking forward to seeing what else she comes up with. The first few chapters grabbed me and pulled me in. After that it slowed down a bit, but still held my interest. The ending was a twist I was not anticipating.

Marins son goes missing. Her world is turned upside down. She is a successful and prominent business owner and her husband runs his own company. Was it personal or random? If it was random, how come they were the target? Was it because it was easy? If it was personal, who would want to hurt them that bad? These are questions that Marin is desperate for. More importantly, she wants her son back. She wants to know where he is. She is consumed by grief, but still manages to carry on her day to day life. Until her private investigator reveals her husband is having an affair. Furious and betrayed and not willing to lose anyone else, Marin turns to her best friend and shady bar owner, Sal, who introduces her to a “fixer”. Will Marin change her mind before it’s too late?

The characters are developed well, and I really liked that. Often I find that they are missing something. Some little detail. But Jennifer did a great job of filling them in. I also thought she captured Marins grief also really well. That is a hard thing to capture and make the reader feel.

This is defiantly a 5-star read for sure and I appreciate my friend Misty @mistyscornerreviews for sending me her copy of it to read.
